Hey everyone! Next week, ticket sales for arm knitting will end (Friday 10/14 at 4 PM). If you want to have an awesome arm knit scarf to take home with you, this is the event for you! All it takes is a $10 ticket purchase and an indication of yarn color preference. We'll purchase the yarn for you and then teach you arm knitting!! So purchase your tickets before it's too late!
Now let's turn to our member spotlight. We do really want to hear about all of you, so please submit a short paragraph about you and the project you're working on (with a picture) to firstname.lastname@example.org. For this week, let's look at another of our officers; the Pitt Knits Events Coordinator, Shannon Gallagher!
Hey I'm Shannon and I am your Events Coordinator! If you have an idea for a cool and fun event that the club can do, let me know! As some of you may know, I'm also an officer of another service organization called Pitt Project Potter, and I play the lovely role of Community Outreach Liaison. Along with working beside good will organizations to give back to the community, I also contribute to the prizes our members win as a positive incentive to be involved in the club! All of Project Potter's members are sorted into the Hogwarts Houses, so as a final prize I make house scarves; pictured are a finished Hufflepuff and almost finished Ravenclaw! These scarves are actually the whole catalyst for me learning how to knit, and I'm so happy that I learned (and from our very own Ashlee DiDomenico)! These scarves are simple and repetitive, so I'm looking to do more complicated patterns like this snowflake lace scarf that I have started. Hopefully it'll be finished soon and I can move on to even cooler patterns!
If you have yet to register for PMADD with Pitt Knits, registration ends on Sunday at 11:59 PM, so sign up here: http://www.pmadd16.eventbrite.com/
Also, don't forget to purchase your arm knitting tickets before it's too late! All Pitt students are welcome, so bring your friends/floor mates/RA's!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs and stitches,
Ashlee DiDomenico - Pitt Knits Social Media Chair
