Hi, I’m Ashlee DiDomenico, I am a junior majoring in Linguistics, History, and German, and I am in love with all things fiber! I knit, I crochet, and I also spin my own yarn. I love the creativity of making a thing from start to finish, and I’m also fascinated with the history behind the whole process. I’m currently spinning yarn that I’m knitting into an heirloom baby blanket for my sister, who had her first baby back in June. I’m spinning some of it on my spinning wheel, but I’m also spinning some on my drop spindle because it fits in my bag and I can spin in between classes. I’m hoping I’ll have it done before Christmas; fingers crossed!
On October 30th, our general body meeting was Halloween themed! We decorated the room, ate candy, and made a Halloween themed project!
This meeting had a great turnout with close to 20 members present, and about half of the members participating in our special project! Five of those who made this project are pictured below.
As you can see, we made cute candy corn colored bows! Everyone had the option to attach either a hair pin or a magnet to the back. Its a quick and easy project that can be completed in less than an hour. Below is a link for the pattern. The pattern is for crocheting but this project can be knitted as well.
