Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving break! The semester is wrapping up, and so is our knitting service project. We are making our physical donation to Living Ministry this weekend (Dec. 3) so we need you to bring in any finished projects to us ASAP so we can make sure it gets there.
Our last meeting will be our Make-and-Take event on Dec. 5. Tickets are still on sale, but tonight’s meeting is the last chance to purchase them. If you want to come and work on your own project like normal, feel free to do so; it’s still a meeting, after all!
We are also still selling items at tabling to raise a cash donation to Womenspace East. Our last tabling is Friday, Dec. 9 from 2-6pm. We have extended the time for this final tabling. We are also hosting a fundraiser at Qdoba Dec. 9 from 6-9pm to raise additional funds for a donation. Grab a flyer and come on out!
Finally, we are also hosting a de-stress movie night Friday night, Dec. 9 from 7-9pm. Come and relax with a movie before finals!
Hope you all have a great holiday, and good luck on your finals. Don’t forget, if you or someone know would like to be featured for a future Member Spotlight, email us at email@example.com to see your face and project right here on our blog!
Hugs and Stitches,
Hey everyone! Winter is in the air, and finals are coming. Good thing there’s yarn around to help you de-stress! Our next Make-and-Take event is the Cabled Headband. It will take place on December 5 from 9-11 pm, which is our final meeting of the semester. This is a technique that has both knitting and crochet versions. Tickets are $10 and include yarn and either a hook or a pair of knitting needles necessary to do the project. We’ll be selling tickets at meetings and at the Stitch-n-Bitch on Wednesday.
We’ve also received new materials to make more donation items for Living Ministries. Check out the new colors at our next meeting!
We also have another Member Spotlight! Introducing Gabrielle Schantz!
Hi, I’m Gabrielle, and I am a senior here at Pitt, majoring in Chemical Engineering. I enjoy knitting because it’s therapeutic, and takes your mind off things. It’s a great stress reliever. My grandmother taught me how to knit before, but I retaught myself and have been knitting for about 2 years now. I’m currently working on making leg warmers as Christmas presents.
Want to be featured in our next Member Spotlight? Send us a picture of you and what you’re currently working on, along with a short blurb about yourself and your current project to firstname.lastname@example.org, or let us know at one of our meetings. Until next time!
Hugs and Stitches,
