In other news, this week is our first Member Spotlight, where we shine a light on a member, learn a bit about them, and take a look at one of their current projects. Our first member spotlight presents our VP, Anna Owen!!
My name is Anna and I am the Vice President of Pitt Knits. My mother taught me how to knit and crochet numerous times throughout my childhood but I didn’t get really “hooked” on crocheting until the middle of high school. I lost touch with it again in the transition from high school to college but re-found my love of yarn with the help of my freshman floor-mates Moriah (out business manager) and Shannon (our events coordinator). I have attempted to make numerous blankets with only one being a trapezoid-shaped success. The “blanket” pictured I started my freshman year and have yet to finish it…it’ll happen someday! I love doing simple repetitive patterns so I can crochet during class and while watching TV without thinking.
If you would like to be featured in a future Member Spotlight, simply send an e-mail to email@example.com with a blurb about you and a photo of what you’re working on.
Have a great weekend, and happy stitching!
Hugs and Stitches,

Hey, everyone! In the spirit of starting our service project with Living Ministry for this semester, I’d like to take a moment to post a few patterns for you guys to use! You all have been super awesome in learning (or continuing) knitting and crocheting these past general body meetings, and we think you're ready for the next step! Since hats, mittens, and socks are the items that Living Ministry need for donation, we'll start out this week's post with hats. Feel free to use a hat pattern of your own if you would like, but these are here for those who are feeling adventurous and want to try a pattern for the first time, or for those who like using patterns and don’t want to have to trouble themselves with building their own.
I hope everyone has fun trying out these patterns! If you start a hat pattern and have questions, bring your questions to the general body meetings and we'll try and help out. Have a great weekend everyone, and happy stitching!
Hugs and Stitches,
Ashlee DiDomenico - Pitt Knits Social Media Chair
