Following the hat trend in this newly cold winter, here is a hat you can start working on for when that cold weather does finally come. It is stretchy and looks good with or without a pompom. I partially followed this pattern from rivalry but edited it to my head size.
I followed the pattern on my first attempt at this hat and it ended up accidentally being a bun hat, so instead I sewed up the bun hole and threw on a pompom to hide the change in stitches. For my second attempt, I just started by chaining enough to go from the crown of my head to where I wanted the hat to end and accounted for the flap.
Welcome back everyone! We hope you enjoyed the holiday break, and you have gotten back into the swing of the semester. Do you like the look of an ear warmer headband, but wish it covered more of your head? Do you like wearing hats, but hate the look of hat hair? If you answered yes to either of these two questions, or both, the messy bun/ponytail hat may be for you!
I have gathered some links to some of my favorite and FREE patterns for this popular new trend!

Hope to see all of you at our next general body meeting (1/23)!
